Slightly higher than that now but still, I have passed the 10k mark finally! YAY! Most of the writing happened yesterday to be fair and I am behind. I’ll take whatever victories I can though after having a non-writing day on Friday (the 15th).

A lot of the writing was descriptive and exposition, ranging from describing my FMC’s apartment and new hometown to how the sun dampens my vampires powers, sapping them of energy and increasing their need to feed. I also talked briefly about different ways they did feed and about the ways slaves could be bought and sold as that provides a lot of the conflict. As for story, my FMC has met a new possible love interest (let’s call him MMC2) followed quickly by her meeting up with my earlier MMC, now MMC1.  The meeting with MMC1 was a little heated but was interrupted by my FMC having an appointment with a literary agent, the same one as MMC1.

After the meeting, MMC1 followed FMC and the two ended up fighting because my FMC wants nothing to do with him after the way he played with her heart whilst he seems to have become stalker-ish with her, wanting to talk and insisting they could still be an item. I am admittedly rather proud of the fact that my FMC punched him and kicked him in the googlies for his trouble.

Currently, my FMC is doing her shopping and has stopped to watch the slave auction, which is really the start of the real story. I seem to spend way too much time in set up! Or maybe I should just plan a bit more.

The plan for the next week after a late second week slump is just to catch up as many words as possible and get right into the story properly. Re-reading Writing the Paranormal Novel by Steven Harper is helping me to focus properly, even if this is going to be somewhat a nightmare to eventually edit. The other Camp story is going to be hard as well but at least I have planning in that one. This one is being totally winged! I may yet also have a look at stuff about writing romance stories, love triangles and stalkers. Those will be fun Google searches!

How are things for you? Slumped badly? Keeping going? Ahead or behind? Feel free to comment below.

A mix of tiredness and being stuck has meant I spent a couple of days writing only a couple of words trying to advance the story but unable to find the right words or direction. Maybe it was week 2 slump type of thing which only broke yesterday after seeing the new Ghostbusters film (so good!) when something clicked and I just started writing. Very far behind now but I’ll take it.

My FMC’s articles have made an impression on the vampires of her country, much to the dismay of her mother. The mother then tried setting my FMC up on dates and singles mixers before trying to use a matchmaker to forcefully marry her off. An argument between them in front of the matchmaker made her realise what was potentially happening and refused to take part in it. Walking the matchmaker to the garden gate, the FMC is told to run as fast and as far as possible from her mother and be independent.

A time skip to several years later reveal that the sister and her now werewolf husband have kids and are running a bar, their parents had divorced with the father unable to take the mother’s behaviour and attitude anymore. The mother then got too involved in her son’s marriage, leading to the son’s marriage also breaking up and his wife taking the kids and trying to get full sole custody of them.

I have had various thoughts over the days I wasn’t really writing which may yet play out in the story or maybe not. I guess I will just have to see.

How have things been for you? Week two slump or racing through, clocking up those words? I just hope you have had better luck than me.

So only a little behind really for my 25,000 word target. Considering I have been busy in the last couple of days and just about awake enough to actually write at least a few words, I’m happy with my progress.

What’s been happening then? My FMC finally found the confidence to go to the MMC’s house only to be told by his disapproving mum that he had moved out and gone far away for his new job. This proved to be a lie as when she was walking home, a van stopped to reveal that my MMC was actually moving out that day and had seen her walking along the path. He jumped out, kissed, confirmed he had feelings for her as well but couldn’t be with her because he was indeed moving far away and he didn’t want that kind of relationship. He then jumped back in the van and left.

I am now realise what a jerk move that was. Still, possible story for later.

Anyway, my FMC receives the journalism qualification she was working towards and proceeded to register as self-employed and started querying ideas and articles whilst also sending out her final project articles for consideration. In the meanwhile, she’s been writing local reports for the local papers and spending what time she can with her sister and the werewolves, helping the sister get ready for her wedding. It’s whilst talking to her sister and her sister’s future mother in law that my FMC has started wondering why her father has refused to read any of the articles.

The last bit was going to be a plot point or a throwaway line originally but something I saw on TV today has me rethinking it and has given me a delicious possible plot line to follow.

The plan going forward is to write as much as I can, where I can. Life is getting busy again meaning there is a possibility of me dropping my word target depending on how it goes. Could also mean posts become a little intermittent but I will try to keep on top. I am planning to see the new Ghostbusters film too so who knows? That could influence my writing.

How’s your Camp going? Still going strong or having second week wobbles? Don’t be afraid to comment below but please do not post hate about the Ghostbusters film or the fact I am posting the trailer below.

Forgive me for the two hashtags in the title of this post. I am experimenting with Twitter again.

A respectable start really considering I junked my previous idea 24 hours before this session started. I know I said I would wait until midnight, just open a document and just start writing but that didn’t quite pan out. The story I am writing is a very old one that I have talked about before on here.

You might remember me asking a question about rewriting back in January of last year and the picture that was posted with it. Well, that story decided to rear its head again whilst I was running errands on Thursday and I decided to give it another go.

At its very core, the original plot that I conceived for the story nearly 10 years ago now is about a young vampire author who rescues an abused neko slave boy and is fighting not just for justice of the boy but also against the slavery system in her country. Naturally, that has developed over the years as I have worked on other stories and life took it’s course. Now, there is also a romance/family plot that is running along the slavery one. My FMC author/social worker is in a relationship with my MMC author/civil servant vampire and their parents disapproving for various reasons, the author’s sister going out with a werewolf (so a vampire/werewolf plot possible too) as well as my MMC’s brother discovering he is gay and unable to come to terms with it.

This story, for now, feels right for this session so I am going to stick with it and see what happens.

How is Camp going for you? Is it going well or are you struggling already? Don’t be afraid to comment below.

Vampires, Crime and Angels...Eclectic Me

Interview:

1. This will be your first published work in the erotica genre. Did you always plan to write this genre, or did it just happen?

I knew that when the idea came to me, it would be an erotic. I’d been having all sorts of ideas and this one firmly stood out in my notebook. I knew I’d have to write it, and so I did. Erotic and all.

2. What is your main inspiration for writing?

My main inspiration for this piece is my own life and hobbies. I am a self confessed nerd/geek/whatever you want to call me. I love so many different things, from comic books and mangas, to films and anime, to reading. There’s a lot of geek culture in this, such as video games and cosplay, and it’s something that everyone can identity with at some point in life!

3. What is your writing…
