New Doctor Who News

A new character for the next series of Doctor Who has been announced by BBC America!

Keeley Hawes, from Upstairs, Downstairs and Line of Duty, will be playing a character called Ms. Delphox. The only information released about the character is that the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) will meet her when they land on a mysterious and puzzling world and that she has a dark secret.

It is still unknown when Doctor Who will première on British or American screens but no doubt more information will be released soon.

New Who Companion Revealed

Clara and the new Doctor are getting a new friend to join them in the TARDIS. BBC News are reporting that Samuel Anderson, who has previously appeared in Gavin & Stacey and Emmerdale, will play Danny Pink, a teacher at Coal Hill School with Clara. Little is known about Anderson’s character but Anderson himself  has said:

“I was so excited to join Doctor Who, I wanted to jump and click my heels but I was scared I might not come down before filming started. It’s a quintessential part of British culture and I can’t believe I’m part of it. It’s an honour to be able to work alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman and I can’t wait to show people how my character becomes involved with such a fantastic duo.”

Episodes four and five are currently being filmed of series eight.

BBC reveals Capaldi’s outfit as the Doctor

The BBC have revealed Peter Capaldi’s outfit as the 12th Doctor. Capaldi has described it as having “[..] woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.”

Moffat has said: “New Doctor, new era, and of course new clothes. Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over – Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you!”

The latest series began filming earlier this month and is predicted to finish in August.

So what do people make of his new outfit? Good? Bad? What do you think of the description of this Doctor as a rebel Time Lord? What are you expecting of this new series and of this new Doctor?

Doctor Who Series 8

Series 8 of Doctor Who has started filming. They were recently out on the streets of Cardiff and, as to be expected, fans were out in force filming the filming and grabbing pictures of the new Doctor, Peter Capaldi. These videos have been uploaded onto YouTube and here’s one of them:

Capaldi’s outfit doesn’t appear in this video but he does seem to be riding a mechanical horse. What exactly is happening, I am not sure.

Sherlock Returns

Spoiler warning!

Warning: Contains Spoilers.

The world has waited two years to find out what happened to Sherlock Holmes. There have been so many theories, some crazier than others (and some were actually in the show). How did he survive that fall? Who else knew the truth? What the hell was John thinking when he grew that moustache? So many questions, all answered in an hour and a half. Of course, this episode being very important meant there was a lot of pressure on the writer, but without a doubt, Mark Gatiss (who also plays Mycroft Holmes) pulled it off.

Two years after the fall, Sherlock has finished cutting down Moriarty’s criminal web, John is working a doctor’s surgery, Anderson is being driven insane by his guilt, and Molly has moved on with a man who looks remarkably like Sherlock’s long lost brother. So fairly normal stuff.

There have been theories…
